Right now the Gothic and Independent scene comes to public with an unexpected theme: having sustainable parties.
In parallel to the biggest scene festival, the Wave-Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig, this year the first round table for a sustainable creative economy within the scene is going to happen.
Invited are atists, bands, labels, publishers, organizers, distributors, press shops, club owners as well as music initiatives of the Gothic and Independent scene.
Creative and practicable approaches for a sustainable and climate-friendly music and festival industry will be discussed beside other topics. Focus will be on the presentation of positive examples, exchange of experience and knowledge as well as the joint development of positions and ideas.
The round table is being organized by the initiative Goth for Earth and supported by the Green Music Initiative from Berlin. As special guest, Jacob Bilabel, founder of the Green Music Initiative, will open the event with a keynote lecture on the topic. There will be participating also well-known scene bands such as “Das Ich” and Welle Erdball.
Jacob Bilabel states: “Green is the new Black. With pleasure we support the campaign of our partner initiative Goth for Earth, which shows us that green thinking and acting makes sense for all of us. The challenges are always the same. So it’s unimportant whether you think black, white or pink. Only with joint effort we will be able to tackle the big challenge of climate change by using ideas, fantasy and creativity.”
For the round table there is just a limited number of spots available.
