The UK music industry has added its voice to the call for an effective global climate governance framework at Copenhagen.
Signed by over 100 of the industry’s most senior, influential and forward-thinking leaders, the open letter has been coordinated by Julie’s Bicycle, a not-for-profit company established in 2007 to unite and support the UK music industry in responding to climate change. Julie’s Bicycle works with all parts of the industry, including labels, managers, agents, artists, suppliers, promoters, venues and retailers.
Julie’s Bicycle Chairman Tony Wadsworth said ‘over the past two years we have taken our first steps towards a low carbon business model. The industry is coming together as a committed community to tackle climate change. This commitment strengthens our demand that negotiations in Copenhagen are commensurate with the scale of the problem, and have an effective and impactful legacy.’
